MAY 20, 2023: Shade Hollow Roadside cleanup PHASE TWO, Bald Eagle township (clinton county)

Volunteers are invited to come back to Shade Hollow Road Forest on Saturday, May 20, 2023, for the Phase Two Cleanup in Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County. Pre– registration requested by Thursday, May 18, 12 noon. Details here.

April 15, 2023: Shade Hollow Roadside cleanup, Bald Eagle township (clinton county)

Volunteers are invited to participate in the Shade Hollow Road Forest Cleanup on Saturday, April 15, 2023, in Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County. Pre– registration requested by Thursday, April 13, 12 noon. Details here.

April 16, 2023: pine creek valley ROADSIDE cleanup, jersey shore (lycoming county)

A cleanup is planned for Sunday, April 16, 2023, on Route 44 North in Pine Creek Valley, and volunteers are invited to get involved. Pre-registration requested by Thursday, April 13, 12 noon. Details here.

APRIL 30, 2023: riansares vista Cleanup, lamar Township (Clinton County)

PA DCNR’s Bald Eagle State Forest employees will join CleanScapes volunteers on April 30, 2023 — a year after this cleanup was originally postponed due to inclement weather. Together, volunteers will collect the litter. In just a few hours, Mount Riansares vista will be restored to its rightful prominence. Details here.

June: 2nd annual electronics recycling event (Clinton COUNTY)

In 2022, CleanScapes held its first electronics recycling event — getting at the root of a litter issue in our community: proper recycling and disposal of electronics. Stay tuned for more info on the 2023 event!


RECENT Events

March 26, 2022: Fishing Creek Streambank & Roadside Cleanup (Clinton County)

On March 26, 62 volunteers, including Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania students and other community members, gathered to participate in the Fishing Creek Streambank & Roadside Cleanup. Working five separate sites, the teams collected 1,460 pounds of litter in less than 3 hours. Details here.

2019 Events + Results

March 31, 2019: Fishing Creek Streambank & Roadside Cleanup (Clinton County)

On March 31, Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania Football team players and other community members volunteered for the first CleanScapes cleanup of 2019, taking place along the Fishing Creek streambank and roadside!

In just a few hours, 20 volunteers collected 0.59 tons (1,180 pounds) of trash and one tire!

April 13, 2019: City of Williamsport Beautification Cleanup (Lycoming County)

As part of the kickoff for the week-long (April 22-28) Williamsport “Richard James Memorial City Cleanup,” CleanScapes organized two beautification experiences in Williamsport in mid and late April. Phase II included members of the PA Outdoor Corps. (Note: The week-long cleanup was organized by Susquehanna Greenway Partnership, and CleanScapes and Heart of Williamsport were supporting partners.)

The two groups, just 17 volunteers in total, collected 760 pounds of trash! This is just a fraction of what was collected by more than 300 volunteers who came together between April 22-28 to clean up sections of the city.

April 27, 2019: West Branch Susquehanna River Floodplain Cleanup (Clinton County)

Over 50 volunteers came together for an event that will tackled a site along the West Branch Susquehanna River in Wayne Township. This was an opportunity to participate in a floodplain litter and tire removal project, and make a big difference along a stretch of the Bald Eagle Valley Trail (the new rail trail being constructed in phases in Clinton County)!

During this event, 54 volunteers removed 2.25 (4,500 pounds) of trash!

July 27, 2019: Bald Eagle Creek Cleanup (Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County)

This was the first stream cleanup of 2019. Volunteers, including scuba divers from Sunken Treasure Scuba Center, spent a few hours souring Bald Eagle Creek in Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County, to remove tires from the creek bed.

On this cleanup, 28 volunteers collected 92 tires and 1.12 tons (2,225 pounds) of trash!

August 17, 2019: West Branch Susquehanna River Cleanup (Lock Haven & Woodward Township, Clinton County)

Sunken Treasure Scuba Center and CleanScapes volunteers gathered at Jay Street Bridge in Woodward Township on August 17 on a mission to remove tires from the West Branch Susquehanna River.

During the event, volunteers removed 34 tires, 75 pounds of scrap metal and 300 pounds of trash!

September 7, 2019: Bald Eagle Creek Cleanup (Flemington Borough & Castanea Township, Clinton County)

CleanScapes volunteers, including students from Lock Haven University and scuba divers from Sunken Treasure Scuba Center, went back to Bald Eagle Creek in September for another cleanup, this time further down stream than the one held on July 27. Volunteers were searching for tires and other manmade debris. !

On September 7, 74 volunteers collected 160 tires and removed 2.97 tons of trash from Bald Eagle Creek!
