Looking for something to do this weekend?
Join the Susquehanna River Cleanup Project (SRCP) for their 7th Annual Spring River Cleanup this Saturday, May 5, in Sunbury, PA.
Registration will open at 9 a.m. at the Sunbury Boat Lunch, located behind Southside Sports (1051 S. Front St.) and Valero. (Pre-registration online will make the process a little smoother.)
After signing in, you will be given your supplies and placed in a team. SRCP will supply gloves, garbage bags, water bottles, and more. The suggested attire includes long pants and shirts, eye protection, and a hat. Use of sunscreen and bug spray is recommended.
The cleanup will run until about noon — and then volunteers will be treated to a pizza lunch provided by Papa John’s in Selinsgrove.
The focus of the cleanup will be on the area from Sunbury south, including the River Walk.
The Susquehanna River Cleanup Project is a nonprofit organization focusing on clearing debris from the Central Susquehanna River Valley. For more information about the May 5 cleanup or the SRCP, visit www.susquehannacleanup.com.
